Biography

Stuart took a degree in philosophy and psychology at Hull University and completed his Ph.D. in Existentialism at Durham University. He has lectured in the Philosophy Department at Durham and has also taught philosophy and psychology at various institutions including City University London, City Lit, Birkbeck College, Stirling University, and Edinburgh University. Stuart has experience as an academic consultant and trainer at Mountainview, a marketing company based in London, where he specialized in the role of emotion and unconscious processes in persuasion. His current research interests are at the intersection of psychology and philosophy, particularly focusing on the student experience in higher education, authenticity, and emotional metrics. He has led several funded projects exploring critical thinking and employability within educational frameworks and has produced numerous publications as a result. Stuart has been engaged in dissertation supervision and teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, covering topics related to philosophy, environmental communication, and ethics.
