Biography

Tonya Satchell is an Assistant Research Scientist at the Johns Hopkins University School of Education. She provides leadership for early childhood system-based projects designed to improve access to quality child care for children. Additionally, she serves as a Program Mentor for the EdD program. Prior to joining the School of Education in 2012, Satchell spent more than a decade working within early childhood programs, where she taught, directed, and supported children and families. She is committed to improving access to quality early learning for children, with specific interests in early literacy and inclusive education for children with disabilities. Her research interests include culturally responsive early childhood systems and interventions that support young children, especially in underserved communities.
