Biography

Vasilis joined the University of Southampton in January 2018. He previously worked as a mainstream and special education teacher in British and Greek schools. In higher education, Vasilis has worked as a researcher at the University of the Aegean (Greece), online tutor at Roehampton University and the Greek Open University, and as an assistant professor at the University of Thessaly (Greece) and National Institute of Education/Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). His teaching has focused on inclusive education and research methods in education. Vasilis has extensive research experience in inclusion for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in mainstream schools, particularly in developing inclusive pedagogy and curricula, and supporting parents of children with SEND. He has ongoing research as a principal investigator for a project on resourced provision in mainstream schools aimed at promoting inclusion for pupils with special needs and/or disabilities.
