Dr. Yael Goverover

Biography

Yael Goverover is a Professor and the Director of Post-Professional Programs in the Department of Occupational Therapy. She is a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association and a member of the American Congress on Rehabilitation Medicine and the American Occupational Therapy Foundation’s Academy of Research. Her clinical research expertise primarily focuses on cognitive functional impairments in individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and multiple sclerosis (MS). Goverover is widely recognized for her work in developing innovative performance-based assessments and evidence-based interventions aimed at improving everyday functioning, participation, and quality of life for affected populations. She has received numerous competitive grants, supporting organizations such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR), and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS). Goverover earned her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy and a master’s degree (magna cum laude) in developmental psychology and educational counseling from Tel Aviv University. She completed her PhD in occupational therapy at New York University, followed by postdoctoral training at the Kessler Foundation’s Neuropsychology Neuroscience Laboratory.
