Dr. Yanhua Bird

Biography

Yanhua Bird is an Assistant Professor in the Management & Organizations department at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. Her research lies at the intersection of strategic human capital and business sustainability, focusing on the forces reshaping contemporary organizations. She investigates how growing societal demands for responsible and sustainable forms of capitalism and the rapid advancement of digital technology affect firms' strategies and performance. Methodologically, her work employs field experiments, natural experiments, and multi-method designs that integrate large-scale corporate and employee-level data with qualitative evidence. Her empirical work encompasses a variety of organizational settings, including global supply chains, digital platforms, entrepreneurial fundraising, healthcare, textiles, and teleservices. Her research has been published in leading academic journals such as Organization Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and the Journal of Management Studies.
