Professor Dr. Zoè Robertson

Biography

Zoè Robertson is the Head of the Institute of Education, Teaching and Leadership at the Moray House School of Education and Sport, University of Edinburgh. With a focus on Educational Leadership and Learning, she has led various professional learning programs and contributed significantly to teacher education. Her professional journey began as a primary teacher in Fife and included teaching in North Carolina, where she was awarded the North Carolina Cultural Educator of the Year in 2003. She holds a Doctorate in Education and has extensive experience in initial teacher education, pedagogical practices, and educational leadership. Zoè actively supervises PhD students exploring critical areas in Teacher Education and Professional Learning, underscoring her belief in the transformative power of education. Her current research interests include teacher professional learning through critical enquiry and the impact of leadership development in challenging contexts.
