Dr. Aodhán Kelly

Biography

Aodhán Kelly is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Maastricht University, where his research focuses on the role of digitalization in scholarship and education, particularly in relation to cultural heritage. His work emphasizes digital scholarly editions and technological innovations in higher education, with a broader interest in digital inclusivity. He is a co-founder and Research Coordinator of Plant, also known as Playground Laboratory for New Technologies. Aodhán has previously served as a Marie Skłodowska–Curie research fellow within the DiXiT network, and he earned his PhD in Digital Humanities from the University of Antwerp in 2017, defending his thesis on 'Disseminating Digital Scholarly Editions of Textual Cultural Heritage.' He has substantial experience in various academic roles related to digital publishing, including positions at the London School of Economics and the International Baccalaureate. Aodhán has also actively contributed to the development of online learning resources and the digitization of historical archive materials. He is currently engaged in teaching within the BA Digital Society programme and the MA Media Studies: Digital Cultures. His areas of expertise include Digital Humanities, Digitisation, Digital Collections, Cultural Heritage, Digital Publishing, and Technology-Enhanced Learning, emphasizing educational innovation through ICT.
