Dr. Beth Warren

Biography

Beth Warren is a Professor and Director of the Earl Center for Learning and Innovation at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Her research focuses on reimagining learning and teaching beyond traditional schooling methods, particularly for historically marginalized communities. She investigates the intersection of culture, language, race, and learning across a variety of disciplines, including STEM, humanities, and the arts. Warren emphasizes the importance of collaborative partnerships with teachers, youth, scientists, and artists to explore how classroom interactions can be transformed to support diverse educational values and learning purposes. Prior to her appointment at Boston University, she served as a senior scientist at BBN Laboratories and co-founded the Chèche Konnen Center, which focuses on educational research related to Haitian Creole. She has led numerous projects funded by the National Science Foundation and other organizations, aiming to integrate cultural, historical, political, and ethical perspectives into educational practices.
