Biography

Cecilia Borges teaches at the Department of Psychopedagogy and Andragogy at the Faculty of Education Sciences. She has been responsible for the program and practical training in the Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Health, overseeing the course on Classroom Management in Physical Education and supervising novice teachers during their training. Additionally, she teaches graduate programs focusing on education sciences. Originally from Brazil, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel), a Master’s degree in Education from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), and a Ph.D. in Education from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). During her doctoral studies, she completed an internship at Laval University (1999-2000), followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Montreal (2003-2005). Before her tenure at the University of Montreal, she was a professor at UFPel’s Faculty of Education for ten years, where she taught courses on teaching methodology and supervised teaching practice. Borges has also taught in preschool and primary education settings, as well as in sports clinics.
