Biography

Christine Brabant is a full professor in the Department of Administration and Foundations of Education at the Faculty of Education at the University of Montreal. Her work lies at the intersection of governance ethics and change management in education. She investigates the evolution of the educational system in response to new social demands and the democratic participation of stakeholders involved in this renewal. Her research focuses on vulnerable, marginal, or innovative groups, their educational practices, and their interactions with institutions, particularly home education, alternative schools, distance education, Indigenous youth education, and Haredi communities. She is co-chair of the National Consultation Table on Home Education, co-founder and administrator of the International Center for Home Education Research, a member of the Quebec Democracy Observatory, an associate researcher at the Center for Philosophy of Law at UCL in Belgium, and an associate researcher at the Quebec Educational Success Transfer Center.
