Biography

Emanuela Ponti was born in Italy and has lived in Scotland since 2004. She began her PhD studies in 2005 while simultaneously teaching courses for the Language Centre and Adult Continuing Education Department, specifically within the Italian section of the School of Modern Languages and Cultures (SMLC). In 2014, she was appointed as the Convener for SMLC's Languages International Mobility and Languages for Special Purposes (IWLP). Her academic qualifications include a Laurea in Lingue e Letterature Straniere from Universitá degli Studi di Milano in 2004, an MPhil in Theatre Research from the University of Glasgow in 2006, a PhD in Theatre Studies from the same university in 2010, and a CELTA from the Language Centre of the University of Glasgow in 2013. Emanuela has received recognition for her contributions to the field, including receiving the Japan Foundation's Local Support Programme Grant in November 2023 for delivering Taster Sessions for Japanese high school pupils in Glasgow.
