Biography

Erika Kustra is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Windsor, where she has been a faculty member since 2008. In 2019, she joined the Department of Psychology after serving as the Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning. Over her 20-year career as an educational developer, Kustra has facilitated over 200 workshops both nationally and internationally, focusing on active learning methods, inquiry-based learning, and problem-based learning. She completed her post-doctoral work in physiological psychology at McMaster University and has spent ten years developing leadership programs in higher education. Kustra has received multiple accolades, including the Alan Blizzard Teaching Award for her collaborative efforts in enhancing teaching quality and the Leadership Award from the University of Windsor. Her current teaching includes a University Teaching Certificate, and she supervises graduate research related to teaching and learning in higher education. Her research interests encompass various aspects of teaching culture and educational leadership, particularly in enhancing the quality of education, assessing the impact of educational development, and supporting the Indigenizing of curriculum.
