Biography

Evelyn qualified as a primary teacher and is currently a lecturer in education working on a range of Initial Teacher Education courses for undergraduate students. She is completing a Doctorate of Education (EdD) exploring Initial Teacher Education (ITE) students’ understanding of food nutrition education and its role in supporting pupils’ capabilities in adopting health-promoting behaviours. Evelyn serves as the Deputy Director of Undergraduate Initial Teacher Education at the School of Education and is the Programme Leader for the flagship Integrated Masters ITE programme, MEduc (Master of Primary Education with TQ). She also leads courses including Education Practice 1: Learning Values and Theories, Child Development, and Curriculum Enquiry. Evelyn teaches Primary Mathematics, Fundamentals of Education, and Education Practice 5. For her contributions to learning and teaching, she received the Early Career College Teaching Excellence Award and has been part of the College Teaching Excellence Team Award in relation to her work in primary mathematics. Additionally, Evelyn has experience teaching on the PGDE programme, supervising students during their dissertation phase, and supporting undergraduate students as an Advisor of Study. She has taught areas related to PGT Teacher Middle Leadership in collaboration with Falkirk and South Lanarkshire councils, and is an active member of various committees focused on health, wellbeing, and sustainability within the School of Education.
