Dr. Gerald Galway

Biography

Gerald Galway is a professor and interim dean in the Faculty of Education at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He has held various significant roles including associate dean and has extensive experience as a teacher, consultant, and policy advisor in the Newfoundland and Labrador education ministry. Throughout his career, he has received numerous national and international awards, including accolades from the American Education Research Association. His work focuses on policy studies at both provincial and national levels, with an emphasis on teacher resourcing, student financial assistance, e-learning, education governance, and evidence-based policy. Dr. Galway's current research interests encompass teacher education, research-informed policy, learning technologies, school system governance, and education reform. He has recently co-edited a book titled "Inspiration Innovation Teacher Education" published by Lexington. He was also the recipient of the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
