James Diamond is an Assistant Professor and Program Director of Learning Design Technology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Education. His research focuses on digital media learning, particularly the use of educational games to enhance K–12 learning for students and teachers. He employs design-based research methods to develop and study technologies that promote individual learner agency in real-world learning settings. With extensive experience in educational research, design, and evaluation, his areas of interest encompass history, social studies, civics education, STEM education, computational thinking, and disciplinary literacy.
