Biography

Jose Palma is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Culture at Texas A&M University. His research focuses on improving teaching and learning through the development of effective and responsive measurement tools and assessment practices for students from diverse, vulnerable, and underrepresented (DVU) backgrounds, particularly in early education. Dr. Palma holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a focus on Quantitative Methods in Education from the University of Minnesota, where he also completed his B.A. in Psychology. As a first-generation college graduate and a native Spanish speaker, he actively collaborates with teachers, school districts, and testing companies on interdisciplinary projects that examine assessment practices for multicultural and multilingual learners in early education, STEM education, and classroom assessment.
