Biography

Julia DiBenigno is a professor of organizational behavior with a focus on understanding topics related to the sociology of work and occupations, collaboration within professional groups, and organizational change. Her research has appeared in prestigious journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly and Organizational Science, and she has received multiple awards for her dissertation and papers. DiBenigno specializes in qualitative and ethnographic methodologies, using techniques such as observation and interviewing to develop novel theories that address significant challenges, such as improving mental healthcare delivery and supporting frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. She earned her PhD and MS in Work and Organization Studies from the MIT Sloan School of Management and holds a BA in psychology from Columbia University, where she graduated summa cum laude.
