Biography

Mariam Aljunied is an Adjunct Associate Professor with over 25 years of experience providing professional advisory services in the field of psychology. She is a Chartered Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. Currently, she serves as the Principal Educational Psychologist at the Ministry of Education in Singapore, where she leads national initiatives aimed at supporting students with special educational needs. In addition to her role at the Ministry, Mariam is actively engaged with various social service organizations and holds a board position at the National Council of Social Services. Her research focuses on special educational needs, learner diversity, autism, developmental disabilities, and cognitive assessments for children. As a former Research Associate at University College London, she currently leads collaborative research projects with researchers from NTU and UCL.
