Biography

Marina directs the Office of Academic Support & Learning Advancement at Northwestern University, leading efforts to provide high-quality, welcoming, holistic academic support for undergraduates. At Northwestern since 2003, she previously worked at the Searle Center for Advancing Learning and Teaching, where she led program evaluation projects with faculty aimed at enhancing students' learning. Marina has taught and advised students in the Master of Science in Learning and Organizational Change (MSLOC) program since 2009 and has engaged in national and international conversations about academic success in higher education, particularly in STEM. She has authored numerous journal articles and books related to the college student academic experience. Prior to her tenure at Northwestern, Marina worked for a decade in publishing corporate communications and taught courses in intercultural communication, multicultural education, and educational research methods.
