Biography

Mark Breslin is a Senior Lecturer specializing in Physical Education, Health and Wellbeing, and Initial Teacher Education at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. An original member of Education Scotland’s Health and Wellbeing Improvement Team, he has played a key role in developing national policy and practice in Scottish schools. His master’s degree in Sport Exercise Psychology has informed his research focus on issues related to body image, physical self-esteem, mental health, and addressing childhood obesity through physical activity. Mark’s ongoing research particularly emphasizes mental health within Scottish schools, focusing on teacher confidence in recognizing and responding to mental health concerns, aligning closely with national priorities surrounding wellbeing, inclusion, and early intervention.
