Biography

Professor Martina Möllering previously served as Head of the Department of European Languages and most recently as the Head of the Department of International Studies at Macquarie University. She has gained expert international standing in Language Studies and Linguistics, with research outputs covering areas such as language acquisition, pragmatics, and intercultural learning in computer-assisted language learning. Möllering has presented papers at national and international conferences and has published in sole-authored and co-edited books, as well as numerous book chapters in internationally recognized journals. Her current research focuses on the intersections of language, context, and migration with an interdisciplinary approach, which includes collaboration with scholars at the University of Hamburg's research center for the 'Intercultural Study of Literature and Media'. Furthermore, Möllering is a member of the Australian Language Culture Network (LCNAU), collaborating with colleagues from the Australian National University and the University of Melbourne. She has held a major OLT grant to establish a national language studies portal for the Australian tertiary sector and served as an invited member of the Research Evaluation Committees for the Humanities and Creative Arts in the Excellence Research Australia (ERA) initiative conducted by the Australian Research Council.
