Dr. Megan Welsh

Biography

Megan Welsh is an Associate Professor at the University of California, Davis, specializing in Educational Assessment and Measurement. She joined the faculty in July 2014 as part of her ongoing commitment to research in assessment and educational reform. Welsh's primary research areas include test validity analysis, assessments as instruments for educational reform, grading methodologies, and the evaluation of educational programs. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Arizona, and her educational background is further supported by a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, and a bachelor's degree from Wellesley College. Prior to her current role, Welsh served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut and has also worked in various research and educational roles including a Research Associate at Brown University and an Educational Research Specialist at San Diego Unified School District. Her extensive publication record includes contributions to well-regarded journals in the field, focusing on issues such as standards-based assessments and educational program evaluations.
