Dr. Michael Thimm

Biography

Michael Thimm is a research associate at the Department of Empirical Teaching and School Research at Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg. He is responsible for guiding the three-week orientation internship in the two-subject bachelor's teaching degree program. Before joining the University of Freiburg, he worked in adult education and professional development for many years. In the realm of municipal educational management, he contributed to two Federal Ministry of Education and Research projects, 'Learning Region' and 'Learning on Site'. As a behavior trainer specializing in communication and systemic coaching, he has worked with private and public educational institutions as well as small and medium enterprises in the area of personnel and organizational development. In his teaching role, he conducts courses covering topics such as educational and pedagogical theories, methods of education science, pedagogical issues in a historical and theoretical context, fundamentals of educational management, presentation skills, socialization and education, and the design of learning environments. Additionally, he engages in educational sociological research questions and projects in adult education. As the internship coordinator, he is available to address inquiries regarding the accreditation of internships in the B.A. program in Education Science and Educational Management.
