Biography

Michelle Pedlow is the Curriculum Strategy Educational Innovation Lead in Nursing at the University of Western Australia. She leads the design of innovative, student-centered curricula to prepare future nurses for the complexity and unpredictability of modern healthcare. Her work includes curriculum transformation, digital learning, academic leadership, and inclusive education, particularly for students from regional, remote, and equity backgrounds. Her research focuses on programmatic assessment, feedback literacy, and the role of technology in supporting learning, with a keen interest in well-designed feedback systems that build students’ agency and deepen engagement while fostering a strong professional identity. Michelle collaborates closely with teaching teams to strengthen feedback practices and create learning environments rich in dialogue and growth. She was awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Staff Award in 2018 for her contributions to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Advancement, particularly for co-developing culturally safe postgraduate nursing units in partnership with Aboriginal communities.
