Biography

Neil Sutherland has spent his formative years touring with world DIY punk bands, which led to a unique career progression into teaching and writing about theory and practice in organizations. His early experiences inspired a fascination with the processes of organizing and the significance of community building and collaborative work. His practice is focused on developing 'alternative' forms of management to facilitate participative and democratic groups, drawing on his background in DIY punk. Since joining UCL in 2022, he has primarily supported over 100 Teaching Assistants, concentrating on pedagogic practice and career enhancement, while understanding the broader climate of educational initiatives.
