Biography

Nesrin Cengiz-Phillips is an Associate Professor of Mathematics Education at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. With a strong focus on efficient and productive practices in teaching mathematics, her work emphasizes the importance of understanding how students learn mathematics. Cengiz-Phillips has been part of the faculty since September 2007, teaching courses on mathematics content methods and graduate-level classes for education students. She has published in journals such as the Journal of Mathematics Teacher Education, Teaching Children Mathematics, and Mathematics Teaching in Middle School.
