Biography

Patrik Vulkan is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Gothenburg. He completed his doctorate in 2016 with the thesis titled "The Microfoundations of Flexicurity - Employee's Well-Being Attitudes in Labor Market Policy in a Swedish Nordic Welfare State Setting." Vulkan has also been a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Ergonomics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology from 2018 to 2020. His research primarily focuses on working life and labor market issues, with specific interests in how employee flexibility and job security impact well-being, leadership that compensates for stress, and union organizing. Currently, he is involved in projects examining low-wage jobs in the Swedish labor market from 2005 to 2020. He teaches various subjects related to working life and labor markets and supervises bachelor's theses in sociology and work science. Participating in the management of the bachelor's program in Work Science, he is also a course supervisor in Research Methodology for Occupational Science.
