Biography

Rebecca Andrews is an Associate Professor at Macquarie University, specializing in early childhood education. She has extensive experience in early childhood educator mentoring and her research primarily examines the interactions between educators and children, focusing on reminiscence and the development of autobiographical memory. Rebecca's work delves into the benefits of high-quality conversations between educators and young children, which enhance children's understanding and emotional knowledge. Over the years, she has actively contributed to various projects aimed at improving early childhood education, including professional development programs for early childhood educators. She is also committed to recruiting Higher Degree Research students to explore topics within her research specializations. Currently, she teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in early childhood education, emphasizing the importance of professional experience as a core component of the teacher education curriculum. Rebecca is a professionally accredited Early Childhood teacher by the New South Wales Education Standards Authority and holds a Doctorate in Philosophy focused on early childhood education.
