Biography

Roya Pashmforoosh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University, starting in September 2024. She completed her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a focus on Bilingual/English Language Education in 2021 at Texas A&M University, and previously earned a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics with an emphasis on Teaching English as a Second Language from Tehran University of Teacher Education in 2018. She holds a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics, also focusing on TESL, from Sharif University of Technology, obtained in 2011. Pashmforoosh has served as an Accountability, Climate, Equity, Scholarship (ACES) Faculty Fellow from August 2022 to August 2024. Her research interests include literacy development for English learners and emergent bilingual students, professional development, mentoring, coaching teachers, and the use of technology in language learning and teaching. Pashmforoosh has also been a Visiting Research Scholar in the Department of Teaching, Learning, Culture at Texas A&M University, reflecting her engagement in multidisciplinary collaborative scholarship.
