Biography

Born and raised in Calgary, Canada, Stephanie Hladik was surrounded by amazing opportunities for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) learning from an early age. She entered postsecondary studies at the University of Calgary, where she felt torn between her love for engineering design and her passion for teaching others about engineering. Stephanie found ways to combine these interests, completing degrees in Electrical Engineering and Education, focusing her research on practices that broaden opportunities for underserved students in STEM. After working as a Postdoctoral Associate at CU Boulder for a year, she joined the University of Manitoba. Stephanie enjoys teaching courses related to technology and society as well as engineering communication. In her personal life, she loves hiking, reading science fiction and fantasy novels, and completing escape rooms with friends.
