Biography

Victor Pereira, Jr. is a lecturer at Harvard Graduate School of Education, where he serves as co-chair of the Teaching and Teacher Leadership (TTL) program. Pereira earned a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Master of Arts in teaching from Boston College. He has extensive experience in education, having taught, coached, and mentored for 14 years in Boston Public Schools prior to joining HGSE. Since 2004, he has contributed to teacher preparation programs at HGSE, focusing on the development of new teachers and enhancing science teaching and learning in middle and high school classrooms. Pereira is dedicated to helping science educators promote scientific literacy and create authentic, relevant learning opportunities that prepare students to be informed and engaged citizens. In 2012, he was honored as a recipient of the Amgen Award for Science Teaching Excellence in Massachusetts.
