Biography

Fernando Olivera is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Ivey Business School, University of Western Ontario. He has been part of the Ivey Faculty since 1998 and holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University. His research focuses on learning processes in organizations, including organizational memory, forgetting, group and individual learning, and error management. His work has been published in leading journals such as the Academy of Management Review and the Journal of Management Studies. Currently, he is the Faculty Director of Ivey’s Executive MBA Program and has held the Troost Professorship in Leadership from 2019 to 2024. Olivera has received funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council for his research endeavors and has presented his findings at various academic conferences, including the Academy of Management Annual Meetings and the INGRoup Conference.
