Biography

Julie Corrigan conducts research at the nexus of technology, literacy, and assessment. Her current research projects include designing interventions for Quebec teachers and students aimed at improving students' ability to evaluate the credibility of online information, as well as developing a virtual platform to teach, assess, and research complex workplace communication tasks. Her research has been recognized with grants from the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Société et culture and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, and she has published in leading peer-reviewed journals such as Computers & Education and the Nordic Journal of Digital Literacy. Julie co-authored an invited chapter in the second edition of the 'Handbook of Writing Research', which is widely regarded as an authoritative text among writing researchers. In addition to her research, Julie is an Associate Professor of Digital Literacies at Concordia University in Montreal, where she teaches graduate courses in educational technology, evaluation, and research methods. She has prior experience as a K-12 English and media arts teacher and has served as the Canadian Regional Editor for Educational Media International.
