Dr. Prashant Loyalka

Biography

Prashant Loyalka is an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Education and a Senior Fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University. His research focuses on examining and addressing inequalities in education among youth and understanding and improving the quality of education received by children and youth across multiple countries, including China, India, Russia, and the United States. He conducts large-scale evaluations of educational programs and policies aimed at improving student outcomes. Loyalka's work delves into the consequences of tracking, financial and informational constraints, and the social psychological factors prevalent in highly competitive education systems. Furthermore, he assesses and compares student learning outcomes in higher education and high school compulsory schooling.
