Biography

Takuya joined Australian National University as a lecturer in Japanese Language Studies in 2023. He previously worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, and was a tenured assistant professor at Nagasaki University. At ANU, he serves on the executive committee and is the host institution representative for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test in Canberra. His academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree from Doshisha, a Graduate Diploma in Research from the University of New South Wales, and a PhD in Humanities and Languages from the University of New South Wales.
