Biography

Christopher J. Lemons is a Professor at the Graduate School of Education at Stanford University. His research focuses on improving academic outcomes for children and adolescents with intellectual, developmental, and learning disabilities. Recent work has concentrated on developing and evaluating reading interventions for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities. His areas of expertise include reading interventions for children and adolescents with learning disabilities, data-based individualization, and intervention-related assessment and professional development. Lemons has secured funding from the Institute of Education Sciences and the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education, as well as the National Institutes of Health. He serves as a Senior Advisor to the National Center on Intensive Intervention and is active in the Pacific Coast Research Conference. Notably, Lemons received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers from President Obama, recognizing his contributions at the early stages of his career. In academia, he has also taught in various special education settings, including preschool and middle school.
